The Christian community here can trace its roots back to the early Christian site of the church of Clonkeen, dedicated to St. Fintan. For more information a booklet "A History of the parish of Foxrock" is available from the Foxrock Local History Club (publication #11). The expansion of the city and the massive development of housing estates in South County Dublin particularly in the last fifty years, has resulted in a parish community of some 3,700 Catholic families, where previously there had been only a small rural population.
Two priests are assigned to the parish. The Parish Pastoral Council support and guide the Parish Priest in the planning, supporting and encouraging of parish life. There are three religious communities working and living amongst us.
The Parish Community worship at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, and have formed a variety of organisations - spiritual, social and recreational - to cater for the needs of the people.
